How your quote looks, template, colours and logo
How to set up the client document in your company colours, from choosing a template to a logo for dark backgrounds.
You set up the look of the document once, and it applies to every quote.
Template
In Settings → PDF document you see thumbnails of all 10 templates, from a plain compact one through a classic invoice to a dark on-screen one. Each shows your current quote and how many pages it takes in that template. Clicking a thumbnail opens a large preview, where the arrow keys move between templates. Only Use this template changes the template. The cross and Esc close the preview without changing anything.
Colours and paper
On the same tab you set three colours, Primary colour, Text colour and Accent colour. Every other colour in the document is derived from these three, keeping text readable on every background.
Paper is the page background, white, warm or cool. The Ledger and Warm serif templates always use warm paper.
Logo and company details
In Settings → Your brand you enter your company name, website, email and a link to your work. This is also where you upload your logo, up to 500 kB, and set its size in the document.
The Dark template has a dark background. If your logo is dark, upload a separate Logo for dark background. Without it, the template lightens your logo automatically.
What else goes into the document
- Project details and contacts from the Project information tab.
- Category totals with their scope for the client. Individual items only if you choose Items in PDF on the quote, as a list or with amounts, below the category table.
- Pricing options, add-ons, information and selected work from the Additional information tab. More in Pricing options and add-ons.
- Quote validity and the number of revision rounds from Document & terms.
On the Free plan the document footer carries a short note about Vidaset. On Pro it does not.
