A quote in another language and currency
A document for a client abroad, seven languages, 158 currencies and tax added to the total.
Language and currency are set separately for each quote, on the Project information tab, under Document & terms.
Document language
The PDF language field changes the language of the document your client receives. You can choose Polish, English, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Ukrainian.
When you change the language, the category names, category scopes written from items, dates picked in the calendar and the default information change with it, as long as you have not edited them. Text you typed yourself stays as you wrote it.
The document language is separate from the app language. Change that in Settings → General → Interface language.
Currency
The Currency field lists the most used currencies first and all 158 below. Amounts are written the way each country expects. The euro follows the document language, so a Polish quote shows “1 500 €” and an English one “€1,500”.
Changing the currency does not convert anything at an exchange rate. Items with a rate from your rate card get the rate from the new currency’s card, and amounts typed by hand stay. More in Crew rates and your own rate card.
Defaults for new quotes
If you usually quote in one currency and one language, set them in Settings → New quotes, in Language for new quotes and Currency for new quotes. This does not change the open quote.
Tax
Private clients usually need a price including tax. The Add tax option below the net total in the summary panel adds tax to the total. The app suggests the name and rate from the currency, such as VAT 20% for pounds. For euros and dollars you enter the rate yourself, because it depends on the country.
The document total then comes out gross, while the budget items stay net. The app updates the default tax line in the quote text by itself, as long as you have not edited it.
